My husband and I really like it, but our family hates it. I figure she can choose what she wants to be called later. My mother-in-law has a valid hatred of the name Lizzy, or I'd go with that. Okay, she hates Izzy too. How about you?

I think Izzy is cute too. But just like everyone else here...I know there are loads of others.
The main point is this: Her name will be Elizabeth. Your MIL can call her that, while you and Dad call her Izzy (or whatever else you come up with!) You know, she may not really BE an Izzy as you get to know her personality. I think it would be great to have a name that came with so many possiblities. My parents were not that creative!

I think Izzie is super cute! Who cares what everyone else thinks, and if they don't like it they can give the baby a different nickname, call her what ever makes you happy.
Elizabeth is a beautiful name, and it's name with lots of nickname possibilities, another member posted them.
Eliza, Lizzie, Beth, Liza, Eli, Liz, Iz

Elizabeth and Liz are pretty common but you don't hear Izzy so much. I like it. Like you said she can choose what she wants to be called later on, but for now you should call her what you like best. I like Izzy.

First things first...It doesnt matter what your family thinks. All that matters is what you and your spouse decide upon.
Anyways..I think that Izzy is an awesome nickname for Elizabeth. Very cute.
