That's the dumbest law I have ever heard. "Ms Jane Doe" you are charged with trying to take your own life: how do you plea"? PLEASE why can't cops mind their own business. THEY don't give a flying u know what that I'm miserable & I'm better off dead. They don't care that nobody loves me & I'm all alone every night. Next time: which might be tonight: NO1 will stop me!

Hold it right there. You do not have the right to commit suicide without MY permission and you haven't got that yet.
Everyone, (well, many people) go through a time when they are miserable and see no sense of continuing. For most, that period passes and they realize that life is good on its own.
How do you know that nobody loves you? Have you given consideration to the person that you might meet next week? (I did not say "tomorrow" because you first have to put on a better face and that could take a few days.) What is your favorite food? Your favorite color? Your favorite TV show? You cannot enjoy any of them dead. It's not worth the trip.
If you are living alone, it means that either you are single or separated and have not shacked up with anybody. If you check with any clergy, you will find that to be praiseworthy. That's one for your side.
Everyone has something to give, and by giving, we receive much, and that includes friendships. You are needed, and I haven't even met you.
Remember, without my permission, you are not to continue even thinking about suicide.

Two professions do not want you to commit suicide: One is Doctors, Hospitals, and Nursing Homes because when you grow old you become a Cash Commodity! And two, is all religions because dead people do not tithe their 10% to the Church! The rest could give a flying whatever what you do with your life. In fact, the government hopes senior citizens depart sooner rather than later because they are running out of SS $$.

See a doctor. Ask him to give you anti-depressents because you feel sad all the time. He will do it. Then OD on those. So much easier.
PS you won't do any time or go to court if you actually die. They don't put corpses in jail.
PPS No one really cares about Michael's permission. He's just a self centered @$$ who thinks that the world revolves around him.

Because, from a technical standpoint, suicide is murder. A cowardly one, really; all suicide is is a way of running away from problems. It's the worst possible way to do so, too. A permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Whether no one loves you or not is your opinion. There might be people who love you and you either don't know it or don't believe it. I have loved people that didn't believe anyone loved them. So your opinion does not change the truth that some people may love you. Your suicide is a crime against them.

They made commiting suicide illegal, so that if you assist in suicide (Dr. Kevorkian), that is illegal too. You would then be assisting in a felony.
