I think that since this is America, you have the privilege (if you so choose to use it) to vote for whomever you choose (is that grammatically correct?).
I think those women who say that NOT voting for Hill is a vote against women are probably a little too much. Just because she is a woman doesn't mean she has women's best interests at heart.
But then again, what politician has any ones best interests at heart (besides their lobbyists)?

I'm voting for the best candidate, whether they are a woman, of color, gay, an alien (in human form, of course), or all or none of the above. I'm a feminist, it's a free country, so I'm voting for the best. It won't matter in most states anyway, because the prez isn't elected by popular vote, but by the electoral college.
Why would women want to vote for her? Well compared to Bush, she can make sentences, and they make sense. She hasn't declared that she hears god talking to her, and that god is telling her what to do. So right there, she's a step in the right direction. I'm hoping for a president who can speak in full sentences!
No, you're not bad if you don't want her to be president, if you think she's not the best candidate. But some people will stick with their partner no matter how much of a louse they are...not that it's right, but I do know some people who have made this choice, I have no idea why. I think they're a masochist, but hey, they have religious beliefs, and I have none, since I'm agnostic, and they're the one that has to live with the jerk, not me (I'm talking about both men and woman I know).

To vote for a woman just because she is a woman is wrong. A good example of this is that useless governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco. Her handling of Hurricane Katrina was pathetic. Granted, George W., FEMA, and Mayor Ray Nagin are to blame for their own part in the Katrina debacle, but Governor Blanco wouldn't allow citizens with boats to go in and rescue people. Many of those people died.
So, don't vote for Hillary Clinton just because she's a woman. Look at all the candidates. Read their positions on all the issues and make an informed decision.

I'm voting for Hilary. Oh wait, I'm Canadian. Well, if I could vote there, I would vote for Hilary. Not because she's a woman (it's ironic that India just elected its first female prime minister--a country considered not as progressive as the US)but because she is incredibly brilliant, tough-minded, accomplished, and she's progressive on issues such as universal health/childcare.
As for your point about voting for someone based on their sex, anyone who does that is not all that smart. Presumably, people are going on platform and performance. Unfortunately, that's not the case. People suggest that Nixon lost to Kennedy solely because television was involved--Nixon was not attractive, Kennedy was. So, people do vote based on things other than politics. Some may vote simply because she's a woman. But that's the beauty of the system--everyone gets a vote, and they can do what they want with it.

Okay, seriously, if you vote for someone just because someone told you, too... well... what are you doing voting? Despite your feminist friend who is not looking at the big picture you are not going against woman if you don't vote for Clinton. You do not vote on the person because politicians don't show you who they are they show you who you want them to be. Vote for who you want to vote for for legitimate reasons.

That mindset shows the fallacy of some of our feminist sisters and brothers. It is sexist to vote on gender alone. As a feminist I feel you should vote for the one who is best suited for the job. On the other hand I see a lineup of puppets for the next election so far and I dont think the outcome of the voting will be all that important to the process.

She used to be my favorite, but not anymore...I don't like to vote for a candidate based on their genitals...I usually go by their ideas and track record. I doubt Bush would have been any different if he had a vagina. Look at Condy Rice, she does nothing but wasting tax dollars on trips and handshaking without making anything happen and she's a woman...maybe she doesn't exactly look like one, but I think she possesses the necessary equipment to be qualified as one.

no it isn't. you vote for who you want to run the country and thats your business, not anyone else's. They don't have the right to try and shame you, and you are not obligated to feel ashamed. They as feminists are violating the things that we have all fought for by trying to force you to do something against your will.
and personally, I'm not a Hillary fan either, and i'm an active feminist.

You know, I have the same problem. I can't decide whether to back Obama because he's a man or Hillary because she's white.
Maybe I should just support the one who I think would actually make the better President?

It is not a bad thing. The votes of Afro-American people are going to her instead of obama. They don't feel bad about it despite the corruption in the Clinton camp.
