I ask my hubby to give me a squeeze (BIG HUG) and after a few minuets I feel relaxed. I read some where that hugs release endorphins which make you happy.

I go to the gym. Exercise increases oxegen to your blood and releases dopamines. It is addictive, so becomes the cause of depression when you cannot attend.

I also lie flat, and tense every muscle in my body starting at my toes and slowly working my way up from there and then I stick out my tongue... this usually makes me laugh at how silly I must look... then I work all the way back down again releaseing them one by one. It pays to have a sense of humour in times of crisis. You should try this.. it really works.. I do same every night before I sleep.

Finally someone taught me to beathe. It pays to concentrate on it. It takes 22 attempts to break a bad habit. Most people breathe too shallow. In through your nose and out through your mouth. Buy yourself a didgeridoo and practice.. soon enough it will seem to you that you are capable of breathing in while blowing out! Oxegen is a great tool for lifting your spirit and so is music, especially if you are making it yourself.

My beauty, my love.

Theres two things that i can do to de-stress myself.
1. i take my dogs for a long walk along the beach alone, watching the waves.

2. i go down to groom my horses and tell them all my troubles.

if you are unable to do the above, why not try just laying in a field and watch the clouds blow by.

*take a walk in the midst of nature (lots of green, water...)
*watch a funny movie
*talk to family
*talk to a cheerful/caring friend
*read a novel (takes my mind away from what's bothering me when i get involved in another story)
*hv observed that joining an organization that works for a cause..where you get to make a difference makes you feel really good.
*take an aromatherapy bath (lavender?)
*prepare an amazing meal that you hv put ur heart into.
*put on some nice peppy music that makes you hum and tap ur feet.
*baby-sit. (lil kids n babies make me smile).....pet a pet-dog or cat...go to the animal shelter and volunteer.

this is all i can think of.....

you can really do a lot of things...
just think back about what makes you smile or feel better in your heart...and go from there...
