Really? I thouth DUO means double, so 2ghz x 2 = 4ghz.... hmmm

No, it means you have 2 cores each running at 2.0Ghz. A lot of programs can only use 1 core at a time, so when running them you are getting 2.0Ghz performance. But the advantage is if you run two programs at once, each of them now has a 2.0Ghz processor doing the work, instead of them having to share 1 single processor. Some programs can use both cores at the same time, but most cannot.

No, the dual core processors have two executable cores not two entire processors in one, so you are able to run more apps at once with less strain on the computer but you still only have a 2.0 ghz proc. Also they are sharing the same L2 cache and fsb so it is not like having a 4.0 ghz proc..

If you squint your eyes, maybe.

It's just two processors running at 2 GHz.

Depending on the software you run, you will get something between 1 and 2 times the performance of one processor at 2 Ghz.
