other than the narrator, nobody. zer0. all those other ppl are ppl he just met on the way, not neccessarily going to st. ives.

Not counting the narrator, zero. If the narrator met the other going to St. Ives, that means the other man was leaving St. Ives. That means the only person going to St. Ives is the narrator, and since you said not to count him, that means zero people were going to St. Ives.

1--the narrator is the only one "going to St. Ives." All the others he met along the way.

This is a logic question. The accepted answer here in the UK is 'ONE'; i.e. the man he met being the one.

However, the line 'I met a man with seven wives' is confusing. Did he met a man who had seven wives (but they were not with him) or were they accompanying him.

St. Ives is a lovely place - covered with cats though.
