Let's say I was to register intelblows.com or a nice one like dellsok.com. Would I be liable for any legal or copyright issues, or am I free to pick any domain name I want.

I want to create a forum dedicated to a certain product I like, so I doubt the company would have any legal issues with my site.

My domain is mcdisney.net, and despite the fact that Disney loves to sue for copyright infringement, they can't touch my name. I'm not sure if there are specific criteria that need to be met in order to avoid infringement, but I've seen many with names similar to the ones you mentioned, and they are legal. I would, however, mention in the footer of each page on your site that you are not affiliated with the company included in the domain name.

just having a domain name is not cause for infringement. however in certain cases, icaan will enforce trademark actions and could cancel your domain registration if the mark holder complained. this is a commercial fair trade action, not copyright as such.
