I really do not believe what I read in most of the answers posted to this question. Very few of you have any awareness of current events or of international relations.

Our deficit is financed with foreign money. Yes, we need are foreign friends. We live from an export economy. If our foreign partners do not buy, we are doomed. If we do not sell abroad, and maintain our currency's value, we are doomed. I will not even question whether any of you have studied economics.

I would venture a guess that most of you are 25 or under with little or no university education.

Almost none of you know anything about modern Russia. You need to read and stop watching soap operas.

I am truly shocked at the responses you received. Most are absolutely ignorant.

Now to your question: I travel extensively, and I can verify to you that America, consequent to our ideals as expressed in our Constitution (what President Bush calls, "Just a Goddamn piece of paper") and our private creativity, largely the consequence of aggregate immigrants that built America, is dearly loved. Current Administration policies and politics are hated. I think it is easy to see why. Partners are not lackies, they are Partners. Their opinions are valuable. Think of it--we would not be in our current mess if we would have listened to our Partners.

President Bush's father is an internationalist. He experienced success. The same with Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan. We HAD soft power. Honestly, we still have it, but not with this president.

The current Bush Administration is making debts and problems for which we (Republicans, Democratics, Independents, and those who are apolitical) will be paying for and correcting for decades.

Yes, the United States under its current leadership is a problem; however, under appropriate leadership, the United States is the solution.

A country is never the problem the counties leaders are and we change our regularly, unlike hte rest of the world so 10-30 year from now Busch will not even matter. Like Nixon did not matter once he was out of office.

I'm sorry.....I forgot.....Where is Gorbachev now? You don't like us. Big deal. If we were truly power hungry we would have taken over Iraq back in the 90's.

I guess we should just stop all foreign aid and go home. That would be fine by me. We can also stop our $200 million in aid to Russia.

Then why does everyone want to come here? If Gorby is a great source on world events we are in sad shape. Russia really has a grasp on running a country.
