My parents had friends in another town. The father worked for the same company as my dad. Well, the youngest of the sons and I had several "fate" run-ins...for instance, at one company convention he was stuck in the elevator at the Sheraton Waikiki, right on my floor, as I was headed to dinner (we were 12 at the time)...at another, I found his nametag at Disneyland (I think we were 14 or so). Out of thousands of people *I* found it!! We visited them over the years and the crush grew, yet we never talked outside of those trips.
When I was 16, we were staying at their house and we finally admitted we had this fateful relationship and spent an entire evening walking around Portland, hand in hand, and he told me there was nothing he wouldn't do for me. *sigh*
He was killed in a car accident 3 weeks later, 2 days after his 17th birthday.
That was 26 years ago. I still think about him and wonder what the story with our fate was.

Ohiyesa wrote a great love story, a short story, I think it was called "Love Medicine". I think it is found in a rare book called "Old Indian Tales" by Ohiyesa.
I also want to say this is a great question.
I knew of a good man who had a great sense of humor and worked in realestate development. He and his wife loved eachother very much. They had at least 7 children of their own and adoped at least 7 other children. I never knew a family that had so much love. Their children were all very strong and healthy, highly intelligent, and very well liked. They lived in a Mansion and lived happily ever after; well there was a bit of a glitch, but I don't want to complicate this story.
For myself, the dates I have been on would make good source material for a "40 year old virgin" story, well nobody is perfect.
I was on a date one time with a very beautiful woman. She asked me what my age was. I said to her at that time: "this year my age is three times a prime number. Last year my age was twice a prime number. How old am I?
oh well...
Check out the Ohiyesa story...

Go read the book "The second legend of the dogwood" .The peoples names, the places, and which war it was were fictitious but the event actually happened even though it was published as a fiction story and the author used a 'pen name'.

I guess you can say my husband and I are like Romeo and Juliet. Me met and had our first kiss within minutes just like they did. And just like them we quickly got married except we waited a few months instead of one day like they did. And just like them my family does not know we're married because they do not approve of our relationship. We also have this love and passion like we've never felt with anyone else before. But unlike them we're planning to tell my family but when we fell the time is right.
