Exactly. No wonder they need to wear diapers. It would scare the crap out of me.

Pretty much. Besides, they aren't in control (hence the term "ground control"), so they aren't exactly going to go out of control and wipe out a town or slide into a family of six or something! Besides, that huge hit of g-forces they endure would sober anyone up!

I think this is one of those things that has been inflated by the media. I mean, it's not like they just hop out of their Geo and jump into the shuttle, they deal with many people on their way to the shuttle. If any one of them thinks they are too trashed, don't think for a minute they won't blow the whistle on them and suspend them from the flight. I think some of them drank a shot on the way there, and some tight a** member of the media saw them, and poof! Instant scandal!

somewhat i think of it relatively is with the help of the fact people r used to seeing manny doing stupid issues like this. no person replace into even meant to be responsive to 3-Rod's utilization of 'roids using fact the comments have been meant to be disposed of!!! on the different hand manny is basically attractive to maximum baseball followers. i'm no longer a extensive fan of manny yet I could admit that he's an entertainer. people basically like him. i'm for my section an A-Rod fan. i'll returned him up ninety 9%. the a million% is with the help of the fact it relatively is unlawful to apply roids yet on the comparable time they weren't banned from baseball till 2004 and the try he failed replace into taken in 2003. he admitted he did fail the try yet on the comparable time he has on no account failed a try for the reason that.

Lol! Maybe. I think it is inappropriate but what strikes me more is how nasty it must be to be hit with all that g force in that state. It's bad enough going round a tight bend in a taxi when you've had that one too many and your head hits the window. What the heck does take off feel like? yuck.

I think that was very stupid on their part. Everybody I know has to take these stupid drug tests, just to get a lousy job, even if you are just a freaking gardener, picking up leaves, but these guys are flying ,and they do not get tested. That is so typical of our freaking government. They are nothing more than a bunch of hypocrites, doing anything they want. Along time ago Bush was busted for cocaine, but yet is the president, outlawing medical pot for terminally ill people, and outlawing stem cell research for cancer patients. Well, what comes around goes around, and one day he will find himself with cancer, and look at the mistakes he has made.

I really don't blame them. They aren't really in charge of piloting them much to start off. They are risking their lives, and it must be extremely stressful. At least give them plenty of prescription Valium to settle their nerves. Everyone has seen the Challenger explode after take off.

No, As a matter of fact I think they need to be as sober as the day they were born. I mean really, they already spend millions if not billions on those rocket ships. So WHY should they be allowed to drink and then operate that EXPENSIVE equipment. If it were you or I you know that we'd already be in jail. SO why should they be any different?

Maybe but I think our tax dollars need to be put in the hands of sober people. Granted everyone is subject to temptation but shouldnt the people who are in charge of getting our space program off the ground be a bit above the norm?

They need to come up with a limit for astronauts too. Then, they'll have a sobriety checkpoint on the moon before you go to mars.
