He has wrecked several motorcycles, has no insurance. But without proof, or him doing something stupid right in front of an officer, is there anything I can do?

File a police report, child endangerment

Make sure the your child always wears a helmet, long sleeve shirt, jeans, and boots. That should keep them protected as much as possible if something did happen. Hopefully your ex isn't being really stupid by speeding, lane splitting, etc.

I didn't give my son a ride on my motorcycle until he was 7.

Not sure what else you can do, unless you can get it written into the visitation documentation somehow. There should be proof of the accidents to document it.

If your child is over 5, I doubt the police would get involved if your ex puts a helmet on them, but it's worth at least a call to your local PD.

Video with good audio(without him knowing) and ask your attorney to retrieve his driving record. and one other thing there is a difference between a safe motorcycle rider and a unskilled rider....Don't give me that crap(don't come between a rider and his motorcycle) she said he has had several wrecks and does not carry insurance....Think about something, He crashes that bike with the child and the child is injured who is going to pay for the child's medical bills(not him, he is injured to and out of work now). So, "Ride On" you need to think before you start saying something, it's obvious that you have had alot of wrecks on your motorcycle and probably don't have insurance and divorced(i wonder why?). You know i worked for the state highway patrol as a accident investigator(resigned because i was tired of seeing too many fatalities of children/10yrs. for the state) and most of them that think like you do(they did). the lady asked a simple question and you had to insult her. I don't care if you are a "Top Contributor" "Ride On" and i don't care if you get mad or your feelings hurt "Ride On" She probably doesn't care if he gives their child a ride on the motorcycle, she wants him to use more common sense and safety, Overall that is probably all she wants.

I live in arkansas and just based on a situation with my roomate i'd say its very possible. I'm not sure about child services thats been recommended but i know that his wife had wrote up in the divorce decree that he was forbidden to transport the child on motorcycle. not sure what the consequence be if he got caught but what you might wanna do is consult your attorney. another thought is to talk to your ex about the dangers of taking Junior on rides.

If the little one is old enough and they are wearin' a helmet the only thing I see that he would be doin' wrong legally is he doesn't have insurance which is not good thing. other than that I don't know if theres anything you can do to make him stop doin' it .. especially if he's not doin' stupid stuff when they are out ridin' on the bike. maybe he does it because he knows you don't like it, or just maybe it's something they both like to do together and have fun and it just so happens you don't like motorcycles babe?

You need to check with CHP The law says that he needs passanger foot rest and a helmet I would think that if they are required if carrying a passanger the passanger should be able to reach the footrest Hope this helps

Depends on the age of the child,
If he has no insurance the court can mandate that he has insurance and proves it to the court.

Try that route

Talk to an attorney, anything with custody has to be handled legally...

If he has shared custody, you my be out of luck, with unless he gets caught breaking the law. I would consult your department of social services to see what they can do to help you.
