The reflection is the truth. People tend to hide from the truth. Therefore they would A) Ignore the ground or B) They would try to cover it. Isn't that what happens? You ignore the truth and pretend that nothing is wrong? It wouldn't change. People are good at hiding the truth. Eventually it would be done.

If the ground were a mirror, it would become rude to look down. We would then have a whole bunch of people with their noses in the air, and a few kids standing around giggling. Pants and shorts would become very popular and dresses would disappear almost overnight. the Scottish of course, would become even more adamant about wearing Kilts, since they would no longer have to wait for a stray wind for some free advertising.

The only way for people to become more aware of their actions and be more considerate, is to make it part of the normal conversation. Right now you've got folks quoting rap songs, rude comedians, and whatever cocaine inspired nonsense some former teen star spouted off at their friends or some policeman. what we hear from each other affects us just as much as what we see. I don't think the mirror idea would be a success. The plants and trees would hate it and we already see more than enough of each other's underwear!

In Todays society I would doubt that a mirror would change some people at all,for I find people have their own frame of mind and I doubt a mirror on the ground could determine whether they are considerate or not.I find some people good natured and yet others have no consideration for anyone but themselves.

Definitely!
It would be like our lives are constantly in check - as if watched by a surveilance camera/filmed on air - our consciences would be alert virtually all the time, and we would not be the same... we would always be worried of political correctness and what not. This may not be the best thing, but it may be for the best results in regards to a more considerate, caring, cautious behavior in some or most of us ........

LOL..... they'd certainly be more concerned about what they were wearing!
It may make a difference in self awareness, but then again, maybe not. How often do you go about your day looking down at the ground?
There would also be a lot more movement around everywhere to distract your eyes...

most people would be more aware of their actions if the ground was a huge mirror, only a minority would not, those who are harden to other peoples feelings.

I see this mirror as a clear conscience, and yes others will be more considerate, because they will me some what more cognitive about them self, and the actions towards others.

This may at first seem a facetious answer, (there IS humour in it!), but as I observe increasing anger, hostility, violence for no "obvious" reason, I think that perhaps they would look down & find something they hated--without recognizing their image--& start smashing themselves. I have this fantastic image of people going around & smashing the mirror into so much shattered glass.

The ponderous reality is that we could all destroy OURSELVES. (Are we?)

Hmmm, I'm afraid most people will be looking at it and be more aware....not with their actions....but with what they wear, and how they look. Isn't this the purpose of mirrors?

less people would throw stones hopefully, some people would just constantly keep breaking mirrors without caring, but if they could look back on themselves then theres hope yet, should make it two way mirror with cameras
