Richardson can get the usual Blue states, like NY, CA, etc, and carry the west, without even having FL, OH, or PA and win the election by a few electoral votes.

He's not a strong enought candidate to lock up California, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or even New York, and you have to be able to carry at least two of those six to win the Presidency in almost any reasonable breakdown. He'd have a reasonable shot in California, and possibly New York (though there's not a chance of that if Giuliani is on the Republican ticket), but I don't see him being successful in any of the others.

No. I think they're more concerned with the actual frontrunners on the Democratic side.
Do you think the Democrats are scared of Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo? No? Same principle.
