If you pick up random objects from dumpsters, trash cans, or off the side of the road (where people throw stuff away) or things that are just abandoned?

I'm just asking because of a running gag or inside joke. I'm basically talking about collecting random stuff for no reason other than to be funny. (Not exactily my idea, but that's beside the point...LOL)

What if I'm not there and I really don't know if it is abandoned or private property or not?

I don't keep the stuff, but I do laugh (along with others) at the expense of others and have fun...LOL. Anyway, is it wrong to encourage that kind of behavior?

or is it wrong to "go along with it"? I know it's not with any wrong intentions.

No it isn't called stealing. Remember one mans junk is another man treasure.

That's a good question, I am not sure. But I believe it all depends if the stuff is on private property.. and if it is then it would be stealing. I think! LOL Well I know it would be stealing if it was on private property.

Stealing is taking of something of another without their knowledge. It is not stealing if I have put it out to trash or have throwed it away. or unless the city has an ordinance against it.

It's stealing if you remove something from a recycling bin.

Also, are you sure that something's abandoned?
