No, they are just a little higher on the paranoia scale than most. There is a natural tendency to psychologically fabricate answers & causes to unexplained phenomena, especially extraordinary phenomena. Thus, every culture has invented supernatural creators of the universe. As a general rule "conspiracy theories" are a substitute for facts made by the ignorant and communicated to the credulous.

It isn't outrageous at all.
There is much evidence to support a new and more thorough investigation into 9/11.
Many members of Congress are publicly saying the 9/11 Commission report is wrong and incomplete on many issues!!
I know the thought that our own government being involved somehow in the death of 3000+ Americans is frightening, but it sure did help George Bush and his administration get their greedy paws and their greedy companies into the Middle East now didn't it!!
Have you ever really read the PNAC manifesto?
http://www.newamericancentury.org
If this PNAC is an idea created by those on the left why hasn't one single reporter ever asked Bush or anyone in his administration that is involved in this group any questions about it?
Think about it.
Then ask yourself exactly how liberal our media is!!
It isn't.

I haven't been on this forum very long but I've seen a lot of conspiracies come through here. I certainly don't take the government's word for everything, but WOW, I've read some things that go totally overboard.
How do these people sleep at night. They must be petrified! LOL

I don't see what self esteem has to do with it. "Conspiracy nut" to me says paranoid schizophrenia and those people can have over inflated self-esteems.
Perhaps people who are a little nuts look for conspiracies and because they do they find them more often.
And maybe a conspiracy for you is an obvious transparent documented sequence of events, that contradicts what you are told to believe, to others.
A complacent obedient position on everything only makes you easier to control. So, you should ask questions, it's the patriotic thing to do.

Or, you could wonder why government officials lie on a regular basis, which leads people to think "Well, if they'll lie about that, they'll lie about 9/11." That's the really sad thing, that our government officials do lie on a regular basis. Look at the whole Pat Tillman debacle, it's the perfect example.

there is nothing wrong with questioning our government and wanting to know the truth ... the other side of this is it goes without saying that the american people don't get the whole story
but I agree some go a little over board
and I hope they to continue to do it ... along with the all the Religious groups that also claim to know 'the truth' ... everyone has the right to believe whatever they want

If you do not like or agree w/ the govt then that is your right.
These theories are a waste of time and does nothing good for the country. 911 was painful enough...stop wasting time and energy.

conspiracy theories are not always wrong! (think watergate)
theorists are thinking things through, exploring the possibilities
they may not always be right (or even very often) but what they do is a good thing
