I just figured that if both instruments are in concert pitch that a flute could play off of a trombone part just an octave higher, right?

I do this all the time - it's no problem.

The flutist can play any C bass clef part (adjusting for the octave, often more than one) and be on pitch.

You can't just read it like it's treble clef, you have to read the bass clef and play that note. For example a first line bass clef G in the trombone part would be played as a G on the flute (xxx:oooo) and not as though it were a treble clef E (xxx:xxoo)

This is a very useful skill for chamber ensemble playing when you want to play something off of a piano part or out of a hymnal.

It's also useful when a flute choir wants to play from a recorder ensemble arrangement (bass recorder is written in C bass clef although the instrument is in F) without rewriting the parts. Additionally, some arrangers write for bass flute in bass clef, being fluent in playing from C bass clef will often be the deciding factor in who gets the bass flute seat (provided you want the bass flute seat, otherwise don't mention you know how to do this - most flute players don't know how)

Being able to read and play in bass clef is a very useful skill.

Yes. Both flute and trombone are non-trsnposing instruments that sound (play) in concert pitch. Obviously this would only apply if the trombone part matches the flute part.

I do not think so I used play a trombone and a tuba in f and b and we had flute and all kind struments but my conductor always was fix the parts of each strument you have to ask to a good conductor to make sure.

Do you have suited pitch? that would desire to make it puzzling to play a transposing device. Seeing one be conscious and listening to yet another would be very puzzling, so those with suited pitch tend to choose for stay overall performance pitch quite than transposing contraptions. you're already enjoying stay overall performance pitch. stay overall performance pitch is once you play a written C and a C comes out.
