They have caseworkers that can help you. Addresss your letter ot the Congressman or Senator, explain your situation and ask for their help. Then follow up with a phone call and ask for the caseworker who handles disability issues.

Good luck to you!!

Your Senator or Rep can't help you. No, you have to go to the Social Security Office fill out a application with one of the staff. If your turned down, keep trying and if and when you are issued a Disability Certificate if it takes a year , you'll be paid back to the first time you filled out a application, if your turned down so may times they go back and pay for all the months after you filled out your first application. It isn't easy to get a Social Security Disability certificate, but once you do , they will never bother you again. Your Doctors can help you more than anyone else. Get a good Specialist with whatever is your problem to write you a real good Narrative Report. Get all the Doctors you can to back you, they are the ones that get you a Disability. Social Security has Doctors in your area and you will more than likely have to go to them for the final decision.
Best of Luck To You.

State Disability, is just that...Funded by the State.
I would recommend a Disability Attorney, who only does Disability type Law. There are many.
I doubt a Federally elected official could be of any help, as it is a State, not Fed. issue.
Good Luck...
