Good grief, how can it be that some of you STILL can't get even the most basic, simple facts correct? Am astounded.
The land now called Israel was always the jewish homeland. It was called Judea, until the Romans took it over and renamed it Palestine - after the philistines.
The original Palestinians were Jewish. They have lived in that specific area for close on four thousand years. 19th century travellers like Mark Twain recorded that the only other people living there were 'a few Arab nomads'.
It was only when the Jews began cultivating the land and transforming the area into anything more than desert that Arabs from neighbouring countries arrived, such as Egypt, Syria, Jordan. The 'Palestinian people' as we know them today were not a separate entity until 1969 - some two decades AFTER Israel was reborn in 1948. Prior to 1969, they called themselves and were called by everyone else... Arabs.
As for your ignorant and false statement about the Israelis 'stealing' the land - what planet are you living on? Britain held the mandate, Britain decreed that Palestine be split between Arabs and Jews. The UN ratified the plan.
The Jews accepted the plan. The Arabs rejected it - and the surrounding Arab nations attacked Israel within 12 hours of it declaring independence.
This is not subjective opinion on my part - THIS IS ALL HISTORICAL, ESTABLISHED, VERIFIABLE FACT.
And what is this rubbish saying 'the jews have killed journalists etc'? PRESENT SOME FACTS TO BACK THIS UP OR SHUT UP PLEASE!
You'll find it isn't the Israelis that strap bombs to their bodies and then hurl themselves through the doors of schools, restaurants and hospitals.
And by the way, 'jew' is not synonymous with 'Israeli'. One is a religion. The other is a nationality.

No one could, or should, deny that our support of Israel has inflamed the Arab countries. Since Israel is the only democratic government in the Mideast, it is our own best interest to arm and assist them. After all, the Mideast contains most of the world's supply of oil, which we desperately need. However, many of us never approved of Israel's cleansing themselves of many Palestinians...people who had lived there for many generations, who in 1948 found themselves kicked out of their homes and businesses and becoming refugees. Other countries were suddenly burdened with these poor people and were reluctant to accept them. Why is it hard for anyone to understand how angry this made all Arabs? They know of our financial and weapon support of Israel, so they hate us, too. If there was ever a solution to this problem, the invasion of Iraq was not it! I do not support Hamas or Hezbollah...they are extremists, but I understand why they want land of their own. Diplomacy might have helped along the way, just as it might help before we get too involved with Iran, but that is not what this administration is about. I know I'm lucky to live in a country that allows me to speak my mind, and I would help defend it....but, even our friends (Britain, Canada, Australia) all hate our foreign policies and our administration. Isn't that sad?

I absolutely agree.
When the U.S. and Israel "attack" a country, they use words such as "patriotic actions", "counter-attack", "Self-defense", but when an arab resistant group fights for its country theyr called "Terrosists". Dont get me wrong ther are absolutly Islamist extremists that go overboard and give islam a bad name like al-qaida. But some islamists resistance groups fight for their women and children, and then they are criticed by the U.S. and Israel media, how they are killing innocent women and children. When in reality the U.S. and Israel are on a rampage killing 100 times more innocent civilians, taking the land of other countries and then saying they were their "first". It sickens me 2 c how many ignorant people ther are and how they are so easily manipulated by their media. You don't even know whats going on in the middle east your just sitting on ur comp and getting your facts from your biased news, when in reality your tax dollars are going to the Israel military to kill more children.
Peace in the Middle East....God Bless

the people of israel are not who they say they are. They claim there forefathers from thousands of years ago where there rightful owners of that land.
They are infact primarily white people who where converted to judaism in europe with no lineage connecting them to this land.
Obviously they are defending themselves against agressors but they put themselves in a bad position int he middle east. They have to be constently vigilant and they cant be so forever.
because of there lack of consideration for the rightful owners of the land; the country of israel will one day fall because a minority of people with big weapons have put themselves at odds with a people that out number them by many millions.
Its always nice to have good relations with europe and the USA but it's even more important to be friends with your neighbour so you can be strong. (like the UK and France)
They had there chance to co-exist peacfully with the Arabs and now its gone.

Not to mention the USS Liberty and the King David Hotel.
I think Jews and Arabs should resolve their own disputes, preferably peacefully, or at gunpoint if that is what they really (mutually) want, while the U.S. should achieve energy independence and allow the mideast to return to a region of no importance.

Yep...Surrounded by hostile countries who have stated their desire to "Wipe Israel off the Face of the Earth"...How dare those Israelis be pro-active in their own defense?
I am Outraged!!!
God, it amuses me when people throw around terms like "Nazi" and have not a clue what it means or what they are talking about.
But it does make you sad to know there are people like you in the world...

I love how deranged westerners romanticize islamic facists into "freedom fighters" and "rebels".
Keep fantasizing, all the way until they slit your throat- put a burkha on your daughters, and subjugate your entire way of life.
