It sounds like a fine plan... EXCEPT, depending on the sealant on your hardwood floors you might want to consider not wet mopping them as much.. Water + Wood = Warping which is a bad, bad thing... Instead get a microfiber pad mop and use that to pick up any dust/dirt w/o using water... Good luck...

You sound to me like you have a completely normal cleaning routine. I wouldn't worry about anything. But, seeing as you have asked, here's mine (with your list):
Kitchen worktops: Many times daily, as I use them
Toilet: Bleach daily, antibacterial wipes 2 days, full clean 1/2 times a week
Bathroom including all accessories: Once a week
Mop floors: Once a week unless its a bit sticky lol
Carpets: Cleaning? Hoover daily, clean my two carpets (living room and stairs), probably never, cheaper to buy a new one
Pollish furniture such as tv unit etc: Weekly
Oven and hob: Daily, I have a two-week old oven, so am in the honeymoon period
fride: Funny about my fridge, always wiping over and sorting out
hoover your carpets and flooring: Downstairs: daily. Upstairs, once a week.
I like your question, I sometimes wonder whether my cleaning routine is a bit rubbish, but I hope I have reached the happy medium between living a life and having a clean house. It might be a bit untidy at times, but it is clean!

I clean the kitchen worktops several times every day
The toilet is cleaned several times a day (am fanatical)
I use about 6 dishcloths (cloth ones) a day (obsessive I know)
I clean the bathroom twice a week (toilet is separate)
floors are mopped twice weekly
polishing/vacuuming done twice weekly
oven every 2 months
fridge monthly
hob cleaned after every use
stair carpet hoovered monthly Only carpet in the house- the rest is laminate or tiled
I think the most important things for good hygiene is daily cleaning of worktops, toilet (including handle, etc), light switches and door handles................ germs are passed very easily on those places. Dishcloths, teatowels and flannels all need replacing with clean ones every day
Vacuuming and polishing can be done once a week.

Oh dear I feel terribly inadequate! I do the kitchen worktops every day, but everything else once a week.
I wish I had time to be house proud but With 3 horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a kit car building husband and a full time(and more) job I run out of hours every day!
I have to say I am a great believer in the fact that if you are too mad about killing every germ in sight you are more likely to get allergies and pick up bugs from sources outside your home.
I am always covered in mud and god knows what else which inevitably gets transferred to the floors etc but we are very rarely ill in our house!!

Sounds good yo me too. My mum told me that instead of bleach in the toilet use one of those lime scale removers. Bleach can wear away plastic pipes.
Can you come to our house and clean. Give me a break.lol.
When my son was small I hoovered 3 times a day. I was so obsessed. I even started washing the kitchen fllor while friends were still eating. How mad is that

you're doin pretty good although i would only polish once a week and would only clean the carpets every 6 months as recommended by the manufacturers, at this rate you'll have no carpets left !!! lol. good luck with the birth xx

that sounds like a pretty average routine to me. One thing though- what cleaning products do you use? Many cleaners consist of harmful chemicals, which are no good for any of us- especially children and pregnant women/unborn babies. I recommend using natural cleaning products (Ecover is great) or making your own with natural ingredients, which are tough on germs but harmless to you and your family. There are loads of websites out there with hints and tips for natural cleaning or try Green Parent magazine. Or try asking your grandmother what she used to use-home made cleaning products were commonly used in years gone by- and very good they were too!
Best of luck with the impending birth! xxx

Think you're doing amazingly with 2 little ones and another on the way. Make sure toilets, fridges and worksurfaces clean and see if you can enlist some help. You're going to need it when your little treasure arrives. Take care.
