MY SIS IN LAW HAS BEEN GIVING ME A COLD VIBE EVER SINCE I MARRIED HER BRO.SHE COMPLIMENTS HER COUSIN WHO HAD A CRUSH ON MY HUBBY, SHE SAYS HOW BEAUTIFUL HER COUSIN IS ALL THE TIME SAYIN HOW SILKY HER HAIR IS, MY HAIR IS ALSO SILKY BUT SHE NEVER SAYS ANYTHING NICE TO ME. I USED TO ACTUALLY THINK THAT MAYBE SHE DON'T LIKE ME BCOS I AINT GOOD ENOUGH, BUT I HAVE A DEGREE & I'M ATTRACTIVE(USED TO MODEL FOR TV) SO I DNT SEE WHAT THE PROB IS. THE WAY SHE COMPLIMENTS HER COUSIN ALL THE TIME IS STARTING TO MAKE ME IRRITATED, EVEN KINDA JEALOUS. THE STRANGE THING IS A LOT OF OUTSIDERS HAVE SAID THAT ME & HER COUSIN SHARE A SLIGHT RESEMBLANCE, WHICH MAKES THIS PROB EVEN MORE COMPLICATED.

(next time you say, Anne Marie, then say Lou Smith said it after that, just so this is how the conversation ENDS.)

Your Sis in law is probably just trying to show her superiority. Sisters, especially older sisters, seem to think they know what is the best her younger siblings. No matter who you are, in their eyes, you will never be good enough.
I know it is easy for me to say, and quite a bit harder for you to do, but don't let her get in the way of your marriage. Apparently your man sees something in you. Take comfort and be secure in that.
Confronting your SIL or stooping down to her level will only make things worse. You don't want to hurt your hubby, do you? Her compliments about her cousin may just be a way to needle you into fighting with her--helping her make her point that you are not good enough. If you must listen and respond to her comments, just nod your head and say nothing more. After a while, she will see you are not taking her bait, and thus it isn't fun for her to continue it.

This isn't a complicated situation. Your SIL is being very petty and jealous. Chances are, if she is this vocal to you, you can be sure your husband knew the cousin had a crush on him, yet he pursued and MARRIED you instead. Don't worry about what she says, she's being immature and unless your husband is flirting with the cousin, you have nothing to worry about.
Also, if your SIL's cousin had a crush on your husband, wouldnt' that make it so a cousin had a crush on a cousin???

So why worry about it. You didnt marry her so who cares. You cant change what people may think about you so dont sweat the small stuff and concentrate more on your marriage than the in laws. What youre doing is lowering yourself to her level and playing her game. When she discovers she cant get to you and destroy your marriage she will quit. Your husband is the only one you have to impress in that family and to hellwith the rest. Dont compare yourself against cousin dearest because its not worth it and nothing good could ever come from it. Like I said you have your husband and thats all you need. You dont need to prove anything to anyone else here.

I agree with what everyone else has said. One thought: maybe the sister-in-law is the one with the crush on the cousin? Either way it is all pretty twisted.

I'd tell her to go to hell, and ok if its her cousin..wouldn't this be your husbands cousin too? Thats a little sick and twisted. If she thinks her cousin is all that, maybe she should date her.

now, it doesn't matter what she thinks/says. its only your husband's feelings/thoughts that do. it doesn't matter even if the other woman is pretty u have his heart and plus your pretty too!
