A partifcle of mass 34g and charge 19 uC is released from rest when it is 70 cm from a second particls of charge -19 uC. Determine the magnitude of the initial acceleration of the 34g particle. Answer in units of m/s^2.

♦ Coulomb says: F=k*q1*q2/r^2;
♥ 2nd Newton says: F=m*a;
♠ thus F=F, hence a= k*q1*q2 /(m*r^2) =
= (1/(4π*8.854·10^(-12)) *19·10^(-6) *19·10^(-6) / (0.034*0.70^2)=
=194.75 m/s^2;

Find electrostatic force between two charges from Coulomb's law. Then get the acceleration from Newton's second law.
