On my baseball team I am a pitcher. I can pitch about 60 to 65 mph. All of a sudden our coach replaces me with another pitcher who pitches in the 70s but cannot pitch as many strikes as me!! Even though our team was fine. We still are giviing up more runs then we used to. Coach moved me to Second base ( I am pretty good at 2nd). But the problem is that i am not happy at 2nd. I already asked my coach if i can pitch again and the answer was no because he wants me at 2nd. Im not happy there and this is my favorite team ive been on it for 4 years now. I would hate to move on to a different league. And most importantly my teammates are the best teamates that i have played with. And I dont want to go back to playing with nasty teammates because ive been there. What should I do now or how do i convince my coach that I am a pitcher and not to have me play 2nd base.

You have to remember that baseball is a team game and the coach is going to put you at a position that he feels is the best for the team. And, right now, it appears to be second base from what you are saying. You have an obligation to your teammates to play hard and do the best you can at any position the coach has you play. I would suggest you do everything you can to help your team win regardless of what position you are playing.

Well there are several factors to why this happened! 1st it could be political meaning favoritism! 2nd maybe the (and I know this could be hard to take!) coach has lost confidence in you in which case you have to tell him to give you another shot! And 3rd maybe you are a good 2nd baseman and he needs you there to help the team win! I know how it feels to be moved around. I have played baseball and softball since I could walk but there were times when the manager put me in a position that I didn't want to play or batted me where I didn't think I should bat but they are the ones who make the lineup and the only thing you can do is bust your *** and show him you want it. Tell him you really want to pitch and ask him why he isn't pitching you. That way you can find out what his thinking is. Tell him you will work on your pitching and that you need to pitch in games to get better. Hell it's not like you are getting paid and neither is he so how the hell are you gonna get better if he doesn't give you the opportunities!

Reiterate your feelings to your coach. If he still doesn't want to change you, you should move on if you're not happy. If the teammates on that team are evil, move on. Just keep going until you're happy.

Just think: Would you rather have good teammates and be unhappy at your position or have nasty teammates and be happy at your position? Or, if you want to get both, move on.
