My mom, and most of my family and friends, think my dad is having an affair, cause he's never home, or takes to long at the grocery store. He has 3 jobs, so that would be why he's always gone, but it is tru he willl leave to pick up 8 things from the grocery store and be home 2hours later. But i dont think he's having an affair. what do you think? what should I do?

I understand what your all talk ing about with the 'get away from shi*t' thing, but my mom always brings it up with me, and she never gets to spend tim ewith him because of the 3 jobs, so she thinks that when he spends that much time a t a store that he's doing something other than shopping.

Tell them you don't believe it till it's been proven. Let them be the one to check it out and see if it's true. It does sound a little odd taking so long to go to the store for 8 things. Does he get questioned as to why it took so long? Also, look on the receipt as they print the time that he checked out. So if he went to the store and then went somewhere else, there would be a big time gap from the receipt to when he came home. But if he got the groceries last, then that won't help. If he is having an affair, there is nothing you can do. It's between your mom and your dad and they need to decide what they want to do about it.

I think that those problems should be left out to your parents. I would suggest for you and your mom to just trust your dad. He works 3 jobs and I think that going home a little late is not a big thing. He might just be taking his time and enjoying the beak instead of looking at going to the grocery store as being a chore. he might be passing by a fast food restaurant or just browsing around the stores around. Your parents should talk about it and you should keep distance. A charge of suspicion to a hardworking person is already an insult. If he wants to cheat, then it wouldn't matter what you do. He might not do it while he is being guarded but he will eventually do it later so trust should be the factor.

Maybe he uses the grocery store as a break. I do. I have 3 kids & sometimes the only free time I have is going to Wal Mart. I might come home with only a couple of things after being gone for a couple of hours but it's because I've been taking my time & appreciating being alone without the demands of my family, which I normally have 24/7. If your dad is working that many jobs maybe he is taking his own sweet time at the grocery store like I do just for a break. I guess the only way to know for sure is to follow him or ask him.

First of all tell your friends that it is none of their business that this a family matter. You to sit down as a family and confront your dad with your suspicions and ask why he is gone for 2 hrs at the grocery store. If he says that he's not having an affair and you and your family still does'nt believe him then you need to tell your mom to get proof of his affair. Good Luck!

Dont get involved, theres nothing you can do and any negative result will not be your fault.

It seems everyone is openly talking about your daddy without your daddy. If I was present in the next daddy bashing i would only chime in and ask if anyone has talked to him or if anyone feels he should be included in the conversation.

Other than that you need to stay out of it. And if your dad is being unfaithful he may have a good reason that you dont need to know about. Just focus on your relationship with him and know that is will always be strong.

If he has 3 jobs, he probably has no time for an affair. If he takes awhile at the store, it could be because he's dead beat from working, and can't keep his mind on what he's doing.

There isn't anything you can do about it. Next time your mom mentions it, tell her you're really tired of hearing about it, and wish she would just hire a P.I. Maybe that'll shut her up. If she takes your suggestion, at least she'll know one way or the other.

Having 3 jobs and a family I could fully relate to sneaking away to just have some "me" time. Heck, I used to drop by StarBuck and get a coffee before going grocery shopping to just get a break from everything.

Dear Not Barbie,

I don't agree with the advice to follow him or hire a detective or any of that stuff. If it bothers YOU, then I think you have a perfect right to ask him straight out. Not because your mom wants to know, but because it bothers you and YOU want to know. Because after all, it's your family, and if anything bad happens to the family, you'll suffer too. Just do it quietly, between him and you.

What do you do? Not much. The workings of your parents' marriage is their business, not yours. If your mom has the same intuition as you, she undoubtedly already has some suspicions, or perhaps not. But it isn't your concern.. Buttttt out.
