Hey.. my dad has been putting regular gas into my lexus is 300 to save money. i think the owners manual says to put premium, but i'm not sure.

So the question is.. I have an almost empty tank now. Can I just fill up with premium or do i have to get it cleaned somehow?

i was going to get chevron because that has cleaners in there already. any tips?

First, give your Daddy lots of love for buying gas for you. Smother him with love if he also bought you the car. Do you realize how lucky you are?

Second, you can switch back and forth with no problems or clean-outs. Your car MAY have lower perofrmance with non-premium fuels but you won't hurt anything. NEWER cars adjust based on the fuel they are fed. In most high octane does nothing to improve performance.

Most Lexus's are tuned for premium

You don't need to clean it you can add premium to regular they will just mix and lower the octane slightly.

Don't fall for Chevron's techron or whatever. Once I saw a Gas tanker pull out of a Chevron and stop at a Texaco further down the road. Gas is Gas

lexus is supposed to be fed 91 octane gas. If thats premium where you live then thats what it needs. Some stations near me have 5 different grades of gas and 91 is the next to the highest.

You don't want to use to low an octane it can harm your engine, but going beyond what is recommended is just a waste of money.

You can just fill up with Premium. There isn't anything else you need to do.
You don't have to use premium unless the owners manual says to.
