Loose Change is not the best 9/11 movie out, in fact it's one of the worst. Wait until the final cut comes out this summer.

Great quote. Here's how I like to proceed when faced with a conspiracy theory:
1. When the facts of a matter are uncertain, the official explanation is itself a "conspiracy theory." That it is the "official" theory does not automatically make it true.
2. Any theory to explain a highly mysterious event is bound to have inaccuracies.
3. Rather than proclaim absolute faith in a theory, consider whether any part of it is implausible. You can remain open without being gullible.
4. Check your premises. Many people begin with the premise that the U.S. government is by definition benevolent. Without accepting any part of a 9/11 conspiracy, is that reasonable? If it's not entirely benevolent, how malevolent could it be? What made average, good people like those in Nazi Germany accept a horribly evil government?
5. Examine the possible motives of people claimed to be involved in the conspiracy. Forget your pre-conceptions about them, did they have anything to gain?
6. If an explanation is plausible and real motives exist, I can stop there without worrying about proving the theory. I'm already concerned.
For the record, I don't believe the official explanation for the collapse of the twin towers. I do believe that airplanes hit both the towers and the pentagon. Another plane crashed in Pennsylvania. I don't however believe that the towers fell for the reasons given in the official account. Every engineer that I know who has researched their collapse believes that they were brought down by demolition charges (as was WTC 7). I agree with them.
To go beyond that for me, I believe that people profit in war. I think it's possible that the attacks were staged to give cause for expanded government control and to justify war. I also think that wars can temporarily mask economic problems at home or provide resources to a country living above its means.
I believe that it is plausible that some powerful individuals staged the attacks to manipulate Americans. I don't need to prove any conspiracy theory. This is enough to convince me that our power structure is dangerous.

I wondered what the context of that quote was - but when I googled it, all that came back was conspiracy theory sites (and, damn, there are a lot more theorist out there than just the 9/11 whackos).
But, it is true that an individual can have trouble processing something that's just too shocking to his psyche. Many people have had trouble accepting the growing global conflict between the Muslim World and the 'Western' World, and grasp at straws like conspiracy theories as alternatives to believing the terrible truth.

The first one I saw was 9-11 Mysteries. Before I had watched that video, I was in the Yahoo Political Groups telling those who promoted the government conspiracy theory that perhaps the government shut down national security allowing 9-11 to occur, but that they couldn't possibly have pulled off such a crime. But then someone from one of those groups sent me 9-11 Mysteries and I was immediately convinced. I've seen Loose Change also and it is just as compelling as 9-11 Mysteries. I have yet to send either of those videos to a friend who can watch either of them and still believe the governments cover-up story.

I saw it, the video is doctored, I cannot accept it as evidence. It only tries to portray the 9/11 conspiracy, it's biased.
It doesn't matter how shocking your theory is, that doesn't make it more credible.
A cruise missile could not have damaged the Pentagon that badly by the way
The extra piece of gear you see on the plane is an engine, it looks strange because of the angle. Compare that footage with the actual footage, you can see the engine is magnified to make it look like a bomb (if it was a bomb, why would they put it outside in plain view?).

Most people by now know that 'Loose Change' has been discredited because the vast majority of its' assertions have been shown to be rubbish.
Here in the UK, we had a fascinating programme that was dedicated purely to assessing the theories proposed in 'Loose Change'. There was no agenda to the programme, and it was fascinating viewing.
The programme dissected, one by one, the suggestions put forward in 'Loose Change'. Not a single one stood up to scrutiny.
EDIT - RIO: I checked out some of your links. One of them proves to be to a moronic site that is merely banging on about Israel yet again - is that the best you can do? This site is utterly nonsensical and only total idiots would cite it as 'proof' of anything - so I'm afraid all your comments are now discredited, for me at least.

It takes time to research everything about the events of 9/11, but as each hour goes by you become more convinced and eventually you just know. " My government is lying to me." Most of us are unsure about who did it exactly, but we all agree it needs to be re investigated by ppl who are not part of this government.

That video is nothing but trash. Do you honestly believe that it is true? Think about this, according to you our government had no problem killing thousands of our citizens. Why would they have a problem killing a couple of more and burying the film?
