for the last time I AM NOT GAY! I just want to find out why the double standard exists. if a guy supports a woman who doesn't work and puts her through med school she can divorce him and collect alimony ( case was true story on Howard Stern) but if the same were reversed the courts would ream him to shreds.

For myself, marrying a man that has no drive to offer anything to this world but his own existence is not appealing to me. He is existing...not living the life he is capable of living. He sounds lazy and willing to allow a woman to take care of him. Your giving it up for free, why should he do anything more. What would happen if, heaven forbid, you all of a sudden couldn't work, what then? I guarantee he would leave and think that could be a fact.
Most "Men" understand their role in society and that when they enter a marriage, they are to support that relationship financially and physically (rockin' sex), even though the woman can also contribute financially.
I think eventually you will want more from him and I want you to understand and believe that you deserve more than this. Emotional support and being a good lover is wonderful, but if you look at the entire picture, do you truly want someone who isn't a "Man", he's a little boy. Real men do right by their women and love them and support them...financially. Boys like him are a dime a dozen.
Good Luck to you and I hope you find out your worthy of more because you deserve it ALL.

I have supported a man that did not work, and it wouldn't have bothered me but you know what, the sex never rocked. He did not support me emotionally, he invited his friend to live with us who did not work, they made our home a pigsty, and never did anything to help around the house. I will never support him again that is for sure. And I would never ever support another man either. When you support a man he still expects you to do everything around the house, and gets mad if you ask for help because taking care of the house is a "woman's job". If it is a woman's job to keep house than it is a "man's job" to support her.

No way. I don't need a man to support me by any means, but I won't date much less marry a man who's lazy and doesn't work regardless if he supported me emotionally and the sex rocked.

Why don't you encourage your guy, do you communicate with him ?
Read answers above and you would know, no body likes such a man. Therefore, rather than doing some unconventional, encourage your man to fight for his place in the competitive world. May be he's already working on it.

Was never attracted to an uneducated guy, nor one who didn't work for whatever reason.... I worked, and more than pulled my share.......There would be no respect nor admiration for such a person...sorrrrryyyyy.

No... I would not marry a loser, even if he was the most faithful man ever. My husband is all that, and he is intelligent and successful to boot.
