The Angels typically stumble around August/September, so yeah, if the A's can somehow pull it together there may be a chance. You have a hell of a hole to get out of though.

I'm a HUGE A's fan. So I think that with the additions of Piazza (and he is just smoking the ball right now) and Street, the A's have a chance but a uphill battle non-the-less. But with winning 3 of the last 4 against the Angels and Mariners they have a realistic chance at this. The next couple of week are gonna be huge as they play 3 more with the Mariners, have 2 series with the Tigers and play the Angels again for a 4-game series at home. They are gonna have to play flawless baseball during this stretch to have a realistic chance. Losing Crosby hurts more than a lot of A's fans think, because it looked like he may have been breaking out and his defense is just so much better than Scutaro or Murphy (if you saw the game yesterday you know what I mean). Who knows when Harden or Loaiza are coming back and I have almost given up on Harden ever being consistently healthy. The A's have been the best second half team since 2000 by a wide margin, but this year I think is just gonna be too much for the A's to handle with just too many good American League teams (Angels, Mariners, Tigers, Indians, Twins, Red Sox, Yankees, and Blue Jays). With only 4 teams being able to get into the post season. STUPID INJURIES!!!

At this point they have the best chance at a wild card spot. JUst see how they do. They always perform well in the second half of the season. Especially since Angels and Mariners often don't.

No they will not. the Angels and mariners are tearing it up and the A's aren't exactle on fire. Since the All-star break they have a 5-9 record and out of their remaining 20 series, 14 are against above .500 teams. In reality thier offense doesn't have enough to win, So no they won't win their division.

Yeah but they got rid of 2 good catchers & Suzuki made several errors when the Rangers played them. The Rangers are playing much better the past 2 months! So if the A's don't get it together, I don't know how they'll place.

Just cause they usually play good 2nd half ball doesn't mean it'll happen. Actually, not AL West teams are having a good second half, yet. I just don't see it happening this year. The Angels will win and the A's won't be able to clinch the Wild Card.

I doubt it the Mariners will take the wild card and the Angels 1st. A's will be in 3rd with a 82-80 record.

Does not look good to the A's. They are still 10 games behind
and Cleveland Indians will take that spot.
A's lack in pitching and winning this year is absolutely ruled out.

I've been an A's fan my entire life and it does'nt matter if they come back to win the division. They've had so many injuries and the lack of offense has killed them. All that matters is they play good baseball and make a race of it. I'd be happy with that.

Nope
The A's r being the A's
they rnt winning either
there is no chance that the A's will make the playoffs. The AL West is weak, all 4 teams cant find a way to win rite now.
