i kno its like they can't read the screen so how will they know when to push what?

It is kind of silly isn't it, but the reason reason is that the manufacturer makes one kind of keypad for all the ATM machines out there. So rather than make a separate pad, which would cost more than one pad for all of them, they make a single style and know every time someone goes to the drive-up window they think the same thing you did.

I would guess because that is the way ATM's are all manufactured, and the banks buy them in bulk.

It would not be cost effective or worth the effort for the manufacturers or the banks to make two very slightly different kinds of ATM machines, and for the banks to have to keep tabs of whether new machines are going to a drive-thru or a walk-up.

Just my thoughts...

A lot of people use drive up atms without cars when banks are closes or to avoid lines.

for blind people since they can see the numbers or letters they learn how to read by feeling letters or objects. so thats what they are
