If there was a web service, that may take a LONG time...uploading is at much slower speeds than downloading. I'd recommend burning to DVD's, or if you have a router, transfer the files over a home network.

By the way- USB flash drives are so cheap. I bought a 1 GB memory stick from Office Max last week for $7.99 and 2 GB is $14.99. Check it out.

One quick solution, if both Hard Drives are formatted to the same File System (FAT 16, FAT 22, NTFS). Simply remove the Hard Drive from the computer that is storing the files and connect it to the IDE cable for the Hard Drive on the other computer. Switch on the PC and enter the BIOS, select the second Hard Drive and select it to run as a "Slave" (you'll need to change the jumpers on the second Hard Drive before connecting it). Now boot the PC up and go to "My Computer". You will see your "C Drive" and "D Drive" should be the slave Hard Drive. Open D Drive and you will see all your files. You can now click and drag or copy and paste them to the C Drive. When you have finished, go to Settings, Control Panel, System and remove the Hard Drive ( D Drive) then "Shut Down". When the PC has Shut Down, remove the slave Hard Drive, restore the jumpers to the original position and install it back into the other computer. Alternatively, you can keep the Hard Drive as a "Slave" and use it as a Back-Up or for storage or even install an Open Source Operating System on it and having a Dual Boot PC.

Your best bet is to get a external hard drive for ease of use. Other wise you can use a crossover network cable if you have network cards in both computer and setup a small network. Or just burn CDs of the files you want. You can also set the harddrive in the old computer up in the new computer as a slave drive and just drag the files over

How many files are you talking about? If it's just a few word/excel documents, try email them to yourself after you zip compressed them using winzip or windows XP zip compression utility. If it's anything bigger, they do have online storage available but it might take you a long time to transfer them all to your new computer. It might be a wise investment for you to get a flash memory stick. They're pretty cheap these days - 10 bucks for 2 gigs.
