You might be on to something there Old Son. But I should think it would be more "economically" powerful people. Like Oil Merchants and Bankers, from various countries.

huh? The market dropped because every schmuck who couldn't afford that house that his wife really, really wanted, got one of these botieque sub-prime adjustable rate mortgages with these really small initial payments. Once the fed rate started to rise and the payments ballooned and salaries hadn't, the idiots could no longer afford there mortgages or had to dip into saving or portfolios or cut back on investing. People are selling there houses or are getting forclosed on, dropping the real estate market into a tail spin.
Since people are starting to have less to invest and the middle class is disappearing (the back bone of the market), the market was bound to adjust.
I'm not saying it was Bush, but it certainly wasn't the Dems. American's have become greedy and have over extended themselves to the brink of disaster to get luxuries they couldn't afford.

Who cares? The Democrats are not winning this upcoming election. They scream and scream "GIVES US CONGRESS AND WE WILL STOP THIS WAR!". They get congress and the war has not stopped, slowed, or even look close to either. They have been in power for 7 months now and nothing.
