It's Ace of *Base* and yes, they are great. The Sign was an old favorite of mine.
The Bass/Base thing confuses me too; but it was explained once on TV that the "ace of base" means the best of the locality in which they live.

"I saw the sign......" Ace of Base is close enough.... if someone came out as Ace of Bass it would be confusing for some.

Actually i think it's ace of base. That's an old 90's band I believe. they sang "I saw the sign's". I think that's what it was.
