well im 15, turning 16 soon and every once in a while my step dad will let me have some wine or a sip of his beer. but wine is gross so i don't drink it but he has a 19 year old son who is allowed to drink what ever when ever. hes a good boy so his dad doesn't have to worry about him getting into trouble from the drinking. i wouldn't give your daughter a whole bottle at one time. maybe just sips every once in a while from your bottle. once you start letting her have her own bottle she might think its ok to serve herself some when your not around

When I read your question, my first reaction was to say no, she's far too young. Then I remembered that when I was 15 (not all that long ago) I wasn't allowed to drink, but stayed in friend's houses and went to pubs and clubs anyway. She's probably going to do it anyway, with or without your permission, so I think maybe a beer or two every once in a while is okay, as long as it's not a very regular thing. If you don't let her, she'll try it herself (teenage curiosity and all that), won't know when to stop, and could end up pregnant or God knows what else...

Well on special occasions such as weddings I am allowed a glass of champagne to celebrate or some wine. My parents give me it so it is fine. I don't like the taste of alcohol very much so I won't drink it except for a taste now and then. It's okay to give you daughter a TASTE of beer but a whole bottle is out of the question.

I think that unless the legal drinking age in your state is 15 your daughter is out of luck. If you are not comfortable with the idea, just tell her no. Your house, your rules!
It also helps to set a good example. If it is getting to be a big deal, maybe limit the alcohol consumption in your house. Offer cool alternatives or look up recipes for great, non-alcoholic beverages.

Back in the day my parents let us have a little watered down wine for Thanksgiving dinner. And our father would give us a little sip of beer now and again. Nowadays I wouldn't do it. There is much more scrutiny on such things. Personally I would think you are foolish to...especially if your daughter went bragging at school about it to her friends and the cops show up at your door.

I think not. It seems harmless to let her have a beer around family, but in general it is giving her a very relaxed message about alcohol. My friend was just saying to me how she thought her parents wouldn't be to hard on her if she was caught drinking because they let her have alcohol ever once in a while so she goes out and parties pretty hard anyway.

Thats a tough one, while it would be nice to give our children alcohol under controlled enviornment where there is no risk to themselves or others..but you also risk her telling her buddies and some how somewhere getting in trouble for giving alcohol to minors. Its really up to you. If you trust your daughter to keep quiet then i really dont see the harm in one beer.
When I was a teenager my mother would let me have sips of her drink..but no more than that

Well this is my thoughts on teenage drinking..i think it depends on your family and family history and morals for one. but in my family my dad was an alcoholic. I had a bro that was 14 yr older then me and when i was underage i just drank when he was around at a family party and it was only ONE and he always lived in another state so it was only once like every 6 months. so i would suggest if you wanted that often and if drink with friends...her butt is yours this way teaching resposible drinking.....i didnt drink with friends or away from fam till i was 19 years old and in college.

I think somebody already said this, but if she wants to drink she'll find a way. It's better to let her drink at home where you know she's safe. What's the harm in letting her try it occasionally (I'll regret that)? Maybe she won't even like it.
