It seems like with all the Vick news, this fell through the cracks. Why would they do this?

Yes, they did. He did not pass a physical because of his shoulder surgery. He was injured and unproductive last season, and if you ask me, it's about time for the Bucs to go into rebuilding mode and unloading their older players. With the drafting of Gaines Adams, I suppose the Bucs felt it was better to release him now rather than overpay for an injured player to sit on the bench. He'll get signed somewhere.

Yes the Bucs dis released Simeon Rice, because of the shoulder injury he suffered last season that did not heal properly. So they released him knowing they're not gonna have him at 100% this season to be effective for the pass rush this season. But some team will pick him up soon.

they were going to sit him anyway because they have gaines adams and plus because he was going to ask for a contract extenion and he is still hurt.

they relesed him because he failed his physical.
Im so pissed, he was the best player we had!
