In the bathroom there is a duplexs plug. I need more outlets. Can I add an adapter that changes it from 2 plugs to either 4 or 6? The adapter is not a GFI.

Yes, you can. The GFI outlet will still protect the things plugged into the adapter. Just don't try to run six hair dryers at once.

Yes you can, and the adapter will become a GFI outlet(s). You still cannot overload the circuit with too many things plugged in at once. Most newer hair blow dryers are 1500 watts. Add a curling iron and you will probaly trip the GFI. You must have a big countertop to hold all the stuff you need to plug in at once LOL.

Yes, but I think you may find that the GFI won't carry it. If it starts tripping often, do away with the adapter. Also if the adapter will not plug in as easily as a regular power cord, don't force it. That will be the first clue that it is not to be used with a GFI.

Yes you can. Provided that the adapter has a ground prong. The GFCI (GFI) will trip as soon as there is a difference of 5 mA(5/1000 of an Amp.) between the ungrounded conductor and the grounded conductor.

If the outlet is already gfi protected then you are ok but if not then the answer is no.

Yes you can. And the items plugged into the adapter will be protected by the GFCI. If you overload the circuit, the circuit breaker will trip, not the GFCI.
