now, especially in small children,

why is each generation deteriorating in health?

Why is each new generation having more respiratory problems with more frequency in younger and younger generations if our pollution levels have gotten significantly better over the past few decades?

And why have asthmatic death fatalities risen sharply as the decades have passed if our pollution levels have improved drastically in that time?

Perhaps our lungs are evolving to be able to inhale our new polluted atmosphere?

As a side note, I was born with Asthma and it went away by the age of 5. This is actually quite common.

Also, three decades is a long time, medically speaking. There have been a lot of breakthroughs in medicine and our overall understanding of health. Perhaps more people aren't getting Asthma; maybe more people are just being diagnosed than before. Not all people with Asthma need treatment. It's possible 20 or 30 years ago people had it and just didn't know.

Where have the pollution levels improved drastically? Certain pollutants have gone down but others are way up. They are also finding new threats in the air like Teflon. We are what we eat, breathe and drink.
