I'd say Brett Favre, simply because him and Micheal have something in common to how their careers turned around?
Micheal wasn't always the star in college he didn't do so well and when he first came into the NBA he wasn't the best and was overlooked by many until one day he was started and proved a point that sitting on the side lines for some is nothing but pure motivation that will be released once given the chance.
The same thing with Brett he wasn't that great in college and was benched when delivered into the NFL until he was given that chance to shine and he did exactly that taking that Packers to championships.
Brett and Micheal have to be compared for those two guys have been in similar situations both being benched as youngsters in the big leagues and both shocking the world of sports by leading their teams to championships when everyone else thought they would never amount to much.
I mean if you think about it this is the best logic because allot of the other players in both the NBA and NFL started out as stars from college. Joe Montana Barry Sanders ect all these guys were stars to begin with and were expected to go far and succeed.
So I choose Brett Favre a man who was overlooked and was said to not become much in the NFL who came off the bench to totally freaking destroy and set the record straight that he was a great just like Micheal Jordan!

Nobody. Jordan was unquestionably the best player of his era and 3-peated twice with minimal supporting cast. Terry Bradshaw won the titles, but benefitted from having the best defense. Tom Brady would be the current QB who could realistically wind up with 5-7 rings...but he does not have the ability to single handedly win a game the way Jordan did. Jordan skills at BBall were better than Peyton Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson, Joe Montana, or Jim Brown...and he came through with the rings too! I'm not a Bulls fan, but we haven't seen the NFL version of Michael Jordan yet.

I think you have to look at more than just athletic ability and skill when thinking about this question.
Let's limit it to current players as well because the above answers are all good ones...
So who has the desire, the fire, the ability to lift his team the way MJ did? Who could go out and win a playoff game with the flu?
I'm not saying he didn't have amazing overall talent, but MJ wasn't the best shooter, he wasn't the best dunker, he wasn't the fastest, quickest or even the smartes player during his time... but he was the most successful., the fiercest, the most confident...
So who in the NFL embodies this? Tom Brady is a good answer for the offensive side of the ball... but... I look at demeanor - Tom's a champion, a winner, but he lacks that certain focused nastiness that MJ had. Brady doesn't need that to lift his team.
LT, Alexander - also nicer guys on the field. Comon, MJ spit venom.
How about a defensive player? I can think of one Defense that has dominated over the last several years: The Baltimore Ravens.
The most intense, game changing player on that team is and has been Ray Lewis.

There are going to be hundreds of answers to this question. By this I mean everyone under the sun is going to tell you there favorite player on there team. And that is partly what I am going to do.
If you look at it from the perspective as who as dramaticaly changed the game from there position then I would tell you it is Brett Favre. everything from a championship to records to 3 MVP's in a row to muliiple pro bowls.
But with all that I am going to give the Jordan comparison to L.T from the San Diego chargers. For the fact he may be the best all around athlete and most gifted back in the NFL will ever have.
But like I said this list is going to grow and grow as everyone will have there own opinion. And quit honestly Jordan was and always will be in a league of his own.

Well, since Jordan was a multi-championship winner as well as MVP, it would have to be someone who has done the same in football. I would probably have to say Joe Montana and this is coming from someone who is not a big Montana fan.
In today's game, I would have to give it to Tom Brady. If Peyton Manning could win additional titles, then he could easily take the spot or if LaDaininon Tomlinson could add a ring or two, he could get it as well.

I don't think there can be one. Jordan could carry a game. He was good, but in football it requires cooperation so no one person can technically carry a football team. So this question dosen't have a logical answer. If you are talking popularity, every city has a Jordan.

LaDanian Tomlinson of the San diego Chargers is looking like he belongs in that category. Dominant Player in any situation, committment to being in top shape, and always wants to get better.
