I would have to say that it is a male because of the sharper top fin while females have a rounder shape to them. the only true way is to observe it with other gouramis while trying to breed. other than that its really hard to tell. from my experience the males have the sharper fin like yours.

From that angel and lighting, impossible to tell 100% but I'd guess that to be a male Dwarf Gourami. Females would be much pronouced round in the mid section just beyond the gills. But the pointed end on the fins makes me want to say this one is a male.

IMHO, it is a female dwarf gourami. The males have much better color and longer dorsal fins that extend almost to the top of the tail fin.

If it is a very young fish, it could be a male that has not developed the longer adult fins or colors of an adult male.

Looks like a young male to me, outside chance it's a female. I would say 80% male to 20% female.

The fins say male but the color says female.... maybe the color is just off in the pic.

I can tell you that the males have the pointy fin the females fins are more rounder on the ends.
