You must also consider the overall condition of the vehicle, the service records available and the previous owner.

Mileage is relative to the overall condition of the car. A car with 110,000 miles that has been well maintained, garage kept and adult owned will be a better car than one with 85,000 miles, no service records, bad paint and torn seats (from sitting outside in the sun) that was driven hard by a 20 year old.

All things equal, It's better to get the car with less miles, obviously.

Mercedes and BMW have a much better reputation for reliability. In Europe they used to use Mercedes as taxis and run them for 300,000 + miles. Audi is just a fancy Volkswagen (VW owns Audi).

In general all cars, regardless of who makes them, are better when they are newer and have less miles. In general, the car brand doesn't matter too much and bear in mind that many European cars are built by American companies.

Common sense would say to get one with less miles. The more miles the more wear on the parts. good luck.

More miles=less reliable.
Older the vehicle=less reliable.

Equation can be applied to any make/model.

It is -not- an always-true case, but it is one you cannot ignore: Time and wear/tear affect everything on this planet.
