It's an awfully small market.

It's easy to support basketball, with a smaller draw. But filling a baseball stadium of any size, consistently year-to-year is tough in a city like San Antonio. To support football, you have to put at least 60,000 rears in seats.

Denver and Phoenix have struggled with revenues in baseball, despite larger metropolitan areas and initial excitement of an expansion franchise.

San Antonio could hold it's own for a while, but if the team stinks, they would be hurting, even with revenue sharing.

I've always thought San Antonio would be a good place for a football team. It's far enough away from Dallas and Houston, and Texas is a huge football state. Plus the San Antonio metro area has a pretty high population, and it's growing quickly.

no way

san antonio already had a football team (they were the first CFL team to be in the US and they flopped) and as far as baseball goes, the MLB doesnt need expansion, so you want the San Antonio Devil Rays to represent your city?

i dont think so. and with the Rangers and Astros already in Texas, what fan base will a san antonio team get?????

Definetly not. Texas alone has way too many teams already and they would have to create a new team for baseball which isnt going to happen, or move a team and if they did move it wouldnt be to S.A. Besides they already have the Texas Rangers.

Dude, let us pray. I hate traveling to Houston for my baseball and football needs. Oh and cocaine, j/k. Or am I?
