such as J-Far, Georgie Porgie, etc. Need to get a life.....you are not a real fan if you discuss the Yankees more than your own fav team, you have limited if any baseball knowledge to contribute to any type of meaningful discussion. I understand it's easy to hate the greatest franchise in the history of sports, but c'mon, its pathetic.

missing the point there adam boy---they can hate the Yankees all they want for all I care, but needless bashing when they "claim" to have a fav team is unnecessary.

This is the time for them to feed on the Yankees, because they are not having one of their typical seasons. They're just having fun with it.

Yankee-hating is a far more deeply cherished part of baseball than is Yankee fan-ship. There has never been a Broadway Musical or Movie about Yankee fans.

When I was in Cooperstown in 1987 to see Catfish inducted I was taken by how few Yankee hats were seen around town. The most common hat was the Cub's as Billy Williams was also going in, showing how much deeper the feelings were among Cubs fans. The were lots of A's hats also, showing that a lot more people traveled from California and Chicago than from New York just a drive away. The third most common hat was the baseball NY Giants, showing that among devoted NY fans, the Giants were still loved more than the Yankees. I don't mean to dis any individual, but support for the Yankees is rather shallow emotionally, whereas Yankee-hating is deep across the country. That's just how it is.

Thank you, sir.

Georgie Porgie does have a life.

He is Regional Director of All Things Going Wrong With The Yankees.

His job is too ensure that yankee fans are reminded that their magic number to be mathematically eliminated from the pennant race is growing smaller by the day. And to put them in their place. Georgie Porgie is just having fun getting all these yankee fans riled up, and he is happy it is working.

As of the morning of July 28, 2007 it stands at 52.
Any combination of Boston Wins and/or yankee losses equaling that number and the yankees will MISS THE PLAY-OFFS!

Have A Nice Life.

I don't think that geographical area constitutes "true" fandom..... People can say that they live in Oakland, San Francisco, or Bronx, NY, but most of them don't know squat about the history of the team. I've lived in NY and the SF Bay Area and know things about other teams besides the Giants and Athletics. I think that jumping on the bandwagon just because you live in a certain area does not make you a "true" fan.

Even though I'm a SF native, when I lived in NY, I thought I was going to church every time I attended a Yankee game due to the history of the team and stadium. I believe people that hate a certain team or teams, hate baseball. These players go through hell just to make it to the minors..... Imagine what it takes to get to the big show.....

J-Far and Georgie Porgie are both very knowledgeable about the game of baseball. Yes, they do talk about the Yankees a lot, but it's just good, clean fun. I find Georgie Porgie to be one of the funniest people in the baseball catergory. With so little to laugh about in baseball nowadays, with the controversey surrounding Barry Bonds, the ridiculous amounts of money players are getting paid, and so much more, as baseball fans, we sometimes just need to laugh about the sport that has become an obsession in our lives.

Generally, Yankee haters are jealous of the success the Yankees have had. Many of these people would rather see the Yankees lose than see their own favorite team (if they have one) win.

Their focus on Yankee-hatred and taunting does indeed make them pathetic.

georgie porgie is annoying as one can be. so are frizzer and iceman. the yankees are fun to hate before the internet people sat and did the same things at sports bars and games. its just good fun. the problem with the internet is everytime you log on those people are there. in the past ypu could just walk away from people or punch them in the face if they didnt walk away. we need to get back to the old way. drink beer and argue it out.

I just don't let it bother me. On the rare occasion that i do say something i just remind Met fans that they shouldn't talk about the Yanks buying players since their team is now doing the same & it sounds hypocrititcal of them to complain now.

The only reason they do it is to get a response like this from you, and you played right into their hand. Both of them have good knowledge of the game and just focus on the light hearted areas to get people thinking and generate a little fun. Other things in life are serious and baseball should be fun for all of us, including some innocent jabbing.
