Do you think that because the nationals plunked the phillies 2 best hitters yesterday that the next time they play it could get ugly? mostly because he broke utleys hand?

The way it's been for 100 years in baseball is that the Phillies will retaliate and hit one of their guys. The way it should work is they hit someone in the leg or back, the Nationals player knowing its part of the game then simply takes his base. Boom, over and done, all is forgotten.

Where it turns ugly is when the pitcher goes for the head, the batter doesn't just let it go, or if the Nationals then hit a Phillie to retaliate the retaliation.

The Phillies should be above that because as bad as the Nationals are, by hitting players they lower themselves to the Nationals already bottom-feeding level.

I don't think it will get ugly, but there will be bad air between the teams.

I would do the same. When do they play again, would like to watch that game?

that would definitely make it interesting...especially if John Lannan is pitching again....but i don't think that would happen...maybe if he were to hit someone again

Since it was not intentional I wouldn't expect to see that happen.
