By giving the most thoughtful answer that actually answers the persons quesiton with out makeing them feel like they are stupid for asking in the first place. Being myself and giving the best advise I can is the general rule.

most of the time i can't figure out how i got one. other times i thought i might but didn't.
i think it helps if you're witty. 80% of the time i give best answer to someone who makes me laugh.
