Work out what size of files you need to transport, and buy something at least double that size.

If you need over 4G (8G are avail FOR A PRICE) might be worth looking as a small portable hard drive unit based on a 2.5" HDD

Maybe 2 gigs is the best. Even better if you buy one of the really fast flash drives. They run "ReadyBoost" on Vista and even if you don't have Vista, the files are written in true USB 2.0

It would be a bad idea to work on grapics from a USB drive.Even USB 2.0 is slow, and you are going to need a lot of space, at least a 5 GB. You would be better off getting another harddrive and usng it.

The price of USB flash drive is cheaper now. You can get 1 GB for around $10 to $20 (depend on the brand). The size is depend on your need. I dont do graphics design, so I dont know the average file size. To be save, why dont you shop for at least 2 GB? Try ebay.com, amazon.com, bestbuy.com, etc.

Sometimes they have good deals (with rebate)

Hope it helps...

1 GB is a decent amount. These days it's also important to have a flash drive that's secure. I found this: https://www.ironkey.com/
online.

I would think 4Gb would be ok, the game Far Cry is 3.1 Gb and its pretty grapics intensive.
