Betta's are not live bearers. Only live bearers become impregnated. A Betta is a bubble nest builder, and breeding them is not an easy task because you cannot house the male with the female. Male Betta's do not tolerate other Betta's period. If she is displaying horizontal bars in her colors, and developing a white spot just under her anal fin, she's probably storing up eggs, but unless you have a conditioned male, with a bubble nest built already, and a good plan to care for the fry, no sense to even worry about this.

Well bettas are what you call a bubble nester so she shouldn't be getting fatter if she is going to have fry. She would deposit the eggs in a nest and then let them hatch that way. She probably has parasites(threadworms, nemotodes, ex.) I would feed her some anti-parasite food for a few days and see if she gets better.

ok Well if its pregnant you'd be able to see an egg spot.. ( which is the first picture I sent
Or if its constipated, then that's the second pic I sent. I haven't seen your fish so i hope that these pictures help you diagnose the problem.

Betta's are egglayers, so they are not really pregnant
Here are a couple of sites that explain breeding in detail
