Have you chosen the name of your thesis carefully? Design is defined as the activity of a designer. If that is indeed your thesis, you're about 3000 years too late; that essay has already been written.

I guess you could look up the anthropic principle - there was a good article on it in Nature last year. Of course, there are many ways this could happen naturally, without actually being designed.
