say i built an entire house from billions of lego pieces in my garden, fully working with heating, electricity, water etc. Do you think it would be passed as acceptable by the building inspector blokes?

I think they might want one that is more waterproof. The Lego ones are tough in rain storms.

I think it is unwise and unconstitutional. Crime is crime. There is no reason to punish one assault more severely than another merely because the victim is a homosexual, because then by definition you are punishing crimes against heterosexuals less severely. In effect, you are creating one special privileged class and a second class whose rights are less worthy of protection. That is exactly the sort of madness that the Equal Protection Clause forbids! One might say that targeting people because of their race, gender, "sexual orientation" etc. is a particularly bad motive. Therefore, you deserve a harsher penalty. I don't buy this. The government is not allowed to punish crimes more severely because they carry a political or religious message that it doesn't like. That violates the First Amendment right to free speech. There is simply NO NEED for this stupid legislation. If I assault someone because he is gay, which I would NEVER do, then I will be punished according to the law. That is the end of the story.

I like Lego gosh Ive built a fire station a police station and lots of things but never managed to build my house.
