A lot of NY doesn't care for Kay, but I like him. He does get anoying and asked dumb questions, but I think he does it on purpose for the people who don't know baseball or for kids to learn. I think sometimes he gets on the other commentators nerves though as well as the fans watching.

No he is not. I have heard many more annoying ones.
One that comes to mind is Gary Park, who did San Francisco Giants games in the 1970's and 80's. Park always appeared clueless, and said many dumb things on the air. His broadcast were so bad that you could often laugh at them.
Monty Moore, the A's broadcaster during the Charley Finley years was really annoying also.
I also find Bob Costas to be very annoying also.

no john sterling and suzyn waldman are way more annoying than michael kay. michael kay isnt the most annoying person in the YES booth, that honor goes to John Flaherty. Kay is a knowledgeable person who knows what he is talking about.

He;s not even the most annoying Yankees announcer. Ever hear their radio guy John Sterling? If you haven't, I'll run down his two favorite calls- "It's is high, it is far, it is gone- an A-Bomb, from A-Rod" and of course, "Yankees win, thhhhheeeeee Yankeees, wiiiiiin". So in love with himself.

I agree with the previous post of "you can put it on the board.............. yes!" as well as the blantant homerism of "WE" like they're still playing on the team.
