The strongest force over long distances isgravity as the stars e.g.Sun can hold the planets in place. The black hole's gravity can even hold light and not let it escape!

But it falls drastically at short distances. The strong nuclear force is definitely very strong. It can keep the protons together in the nucleus even though they have the same charge.

The energy got from nuclear fusion and fission is the proof that the strong nuclear force is the strongest!

Human Stupidity...

Well, fine, lets not be so drastic... call it "human will" if you want.

But seriously, besides the fact our own will is probably one of the strongest forces know in the Cosmos, if you refer to “physical” forces, then I guess it would have to be under the quantum mechanics section.

The strongest force we know is nuclear. Particles are able to release more energy than anything else. But at the end, particles are also a from of energy based on what Einstein said, so at the end, the strongest force would be that one generated by energy, which is at the end everything in our Universe, including us.

Gravity is a product of nuclear forces, but is also very weak… again, it is strong too because a supermassive black hole seems to be very powerful, and it might be the “engine” that moves each galaxy as per the latest discoveries.

Still, the most powerful source of energy (making it also the strongest force) comes from supernova explosions. Besides the Big Bang itself, we could consider that the strongest force: nuclear energy.

PS. If we are made of atoms, then we have nuclear power, and then, human will could be again the strongest force… lol

The strongest force is the Strong force. For those who things that gravity is the stongest should go pick up one of those magnetic decoaration you put on your fridge. A tiny magnet can overwhelm the gravitatational force of the entir Earth! The strong force is behind the fusion process that keeps the sun shinning. However, it is not a direct contributor.

When two hydrgen ions (at the Sun's temperature, matter exists in the plasma phase where electrons and the nucleus are long detached) are smashed together in highspeed it would over come the repellsion of the electromagnetic foce and if they get close enough the strong force will bind them together to form a helium ion. The kicker is that the mass of the helim ion is less than the combine mass of the original two hydrogen ions. E=mc^2. With c being the speed of light at 299,792,458 m/s, the small change in the mass turns into huge amount of energy

I have no idea that one poster was talking about with time. Time is not a force. According the relativity, we live in a 4 dimensional world, 3-D of space plus 1-D of time. c, as I stated above, is speed, not time.

It is gravity i believe.
It is holding all the entities together.
Nuclear force is strong. no doubt. But when a star distroy and turns to blackwhole then gravity takes oven. all atoms changes their form drastically. a big mountain can get reduced to size of a brick. The gravity becomes so stronger that even it attracts all rays passing by. really nothing comes back. I feel in this case gravitational force takes over every thing.
But another point is that the so called blackwhole can turn into a star again after a really long time. that will be the time when some other force will take over that gravity. i don't have much idea in which form that force will be there.

Time may be the strongest force in the universe.
The strong nuclear force is disrupted by the collapse of a neutron star so what else but time could be stronger?

The answer to your question depends on what level you are asking about - force at a distance, or local force.
I beleieve the strongest force at a distance is gravity. While it is a scientific fact that it is the weakest force over small distance, it is the only force that can create curvature of space and time over vast distances.
If you are talking about local force, then I would have to say the strong nuclear force - the force that bonds protons and neutrons together in the nucleus' of atoms. It is this force, or the unleashing of it, that is responsible for the power of atomic bombs.

By far, the strongest is the strong nuclear force. Releasing a little of this is what makes an atom bomb explode.

I think that would be the Stong Nuclear Force (however this force has a limited area - it drops off drastically as distance increases) Next would be Electromagnetism - that is a very strong force Least would be Gravity.

hello friend,
its simple...
the strongest force is
MY FORCE and UR FORCE..
its true.. the human being have many forces.. but they do know that ...in favour of humanbeing forces, the other forces are really waste... ok...

hey, i am the first person to give u a correct and the exact answer.. so, the credit goes to me only.. ok.
