They are actually the same volume believe it or not.
34B = 36A
That and bras are not standardized.
I can fit into a 38C and 38DD depending on the make of bra.

My first suggestion would be to go to a lingerie store or the lingerie section in a department store and ask one of the sales ladies for a fitting. I know this might be a bit embarrassing but its what they are there for. Your band size (which is the number) will usually stay the same independent of what brands or style bra you buy. The cup size may go up or down depending on the brand and style. Don't worry as this is normal for everyone. I currently have in my closet bras that are 40C and 40D depending on the styles.
For a quick measurement at home you would take a dressmaker's tape measure and measure directly under your breast for the band size and then at the widest point across your breasts. The difference in the sizes will help determine your cup size (ie difference of : 1" = A, 2"=B, 3"=C, etc). But for your first set get it done at the store too.
Check yourself every few years as you gain and lose weight, and muscle as your bra size will change.

A lot of people can fit into both a 34B and 36A. They are really very close in size. The band is bigger so it offsets the smaller cup. I can wear a 38C or a 36D. And bras differ GREATLY by manufacturer. You have to try them on- look at how it fits in the mirror and move around- and then put clothes on and look again. Sometimes, the really pretty bras make your body shape in clothes look funny.

Its not really a jump. Someone once told me that if you go down a size.. say 36 to a 34 your bra cup may go up on A to B, which in your case is correct.
However i would go to a bra shop and get properly fitted to make sure you are wearing the correct bra.. perhaps you can use both, but its better to be sure to avoid problems in the future

no, that sounds about right. a 34b can wear a 36a. what you want to do is go to a nordstroms, or lingerie shop and ask them to do a bra fitting. they will measure you and tell you what size bra you wear now. there are also sites that will tell you how to do the measurements yourself. all you need is measuringtape.

The number is supposed to be how big you are around the chest. The cup size is the measurement including your breasts. It was like A cup is about an extra inch or inch and a half or something.
