This is another human behavior which collide with the reason, but specially nowadays when the vanity of the societies and a nice look sells more than some intelligent people which can teach us the real way to valuate intelligence.
It is enjoyable when a poor and undressed person teach us about the real sense of the life, we have seen that through the history and everyday happens, I admire those antique civilizations and persons which left in the history lessons of humility and wisdom (ei. Jesus, Mahatma Ghandy), don't bore and think too much on this, this is another huge defect of our society, regrettably impossible to modify.

Ok, Belinda, it actually starts this way. As soon as you see somone attractive your body releases a chemical that unknown to you conciously makes you feel good. It isn't noticable to you but it is happening. Yes, it happens even to you. When we see attractive people we unknowingly feel better. It's like your body is feeding you a small amount of drugs without your consent. When you see someone who isn't as attractive to you release of chemicals is limited or doesn't happen.

Now, if you think about it the good looking person already has an advantage. Then to really finish it off there is obvious sexual attraction. The way we feel when a beautiful person is around us. You can pretend not to notice but it's there. I have seen adult men unable to contain smiling or even laughing when a really physically beautiful woman walks into the room or walks by. Shamefully I have to admit to it happening to me as well. And I am the kind of person who thinks beauty is on the inside but sometimes it comes wrapped in a very attractive package.

We do live in an extremely superficial society, we place value on material items and "eye candy". It's sad really. I don't think it will change anytime soon and actually will get much worse. Way too many people are getting married to their "hot" boyfriend or "hot" girlfriend then when the physical stuff wears off they realize the person isn't really that nice on the inside then comes the divorce. I could go on and on about this but the bottom line is we have our priorities totally wrong. I wish we wouldn't judge but we will continue to do so.

Because their igorance cannot see anything except their outter appearance. It takes a person with love and compassion to be able to accept anyone regardless of the money or material things. People only know what they have been taught. Everyone thinks that skinny is in, you have to be a certain color, you have to make a certain amount of money, etc., but of all these things have no substance. Some things in life are priceless and what a person has to offer from their heart is one of them.

It's quicker and easier than actually getting to know people. People will judge you on the most superficial level possible unless motivated to do otherwise.

Some times it's hard to look past the hardware that people have adorned themselves with. It tend to be more like a door then a window to there inner person.

Because most people are superficial and are too lazy to take the time to learn what is inside. They would rather make a quick judgment based on what they see on the outside.

because thats the way people are. test yourself by looking at the online dating ads with photos. you will probably turn down meeting someone who is overweight, has a skin condition, is on the short side or any other myriad of excuses - when they could be the ultimate match for you

look at someone who you would describe as a "biker", or hippie, would you be friends with them, date them?

it's wrong, but its human nature

they are either shallow are the media has lead them to believe theat beauty is everything. ppl shouldnt be so quick to judge others bc they have no idea what they have been through. Inner beauty is way more important than outer beauty.

If you mean the manner in which a person dresses (slutty/provocatively, for example), chances are--that person's insides are about as cultured/refined as their outsides, and I have no desire to associate with someone like this.
